ever since sunwoo was younger, he was always considered a flight risk. he never wanted to stay where he was meant to, instead wanting to do whatever he wanted. he'd skip classes, walk out of classes, leave his home without warning, all things but stay where he was expected to. it was no surprise to his family that he left home the moment he had enough money to live on his own.he never really had friends, any friends he made he'd eventually lose. between little to no communication, cancelling plans last minute just to be seen out, and ditching gatherings when he was bored, there was never a friend that really stuck around him. he grew a liking to being alone, though, so it never really bothered him.the warnings of the apocalypse came with shock to most of the world, but sunwoo didn't fear anything about it. it was just a sickness, what really could happen? his family begged him to come with them and go to a community hideout, but he refused. it wasn't long after the word of the outbreak spreading to that very hideout reached sunwoo.he admittedly was a bit concerned, his family was gone and he didn't have anyone to really rely on, but that didn't stop him from making sure he was still alive. for the first year, he mostly ran around alone, finding any shelter he could. he had infiltrated certain communities, blended into the masses to camp out for a night or two before he was on the road again.it was after sunwoo started to grow hungry that he realized he needed these colonies or he was going to die before the outbreak even reached him. he had gotten into a few colonies that hesitantly accepted him, but he more often than not left on his own accord. the colonies always gave him monotonous jobs, sitting around doing next to nothing, and he knew he couldn't stay.sunwoo basically had three old towns memorized with the locations of the communities within them when he figured he should leave the area. he had managed to find the colony after a few more community failures. the only thing was, they had heard about him and his leaving tendencies. so, he was given a job as just a runner, leading zombies away. they figured whether he died or left, it wouldn't really matter to them. only, this was the exact kind of job sunwoo wanted to have. unpredictable, high risk, exactly what he needed in his life. as he stayed, he slowly was given more jobs within his role, using his good mental mapping to use.and was he doing all the for the greater good? at the end of the day, no, he wasn't. he knew he would save himself over those surrounding him if the time came. there was no amount of altruism that he could do to save these people, he would only put himself at risk. it was still every man for himself, but he couldn't lie that he felt a small amount of pride helping the colony in the small ways he did.
